Origins
From the Wizard of Oz, whose booming voice and towering fire held the whole city in fear until a curtain pulled back to show a small, frightened man working the levers.
Meaning
We look at our anger and see what was actually running it. The heat we always took for temperament, the sharp impatience, the contempt that felt like clarity, turns out to have been fear operating the controls.
Ozscreen is the recognition that the booming voice was covering for something small and afraid. The anger felt like strength and even like character.
Behind it, someone frightened was pulling the levers, hoping we would keep watching the smoke instead of the hands.
Usage
I had an Ozscreen moment mid-argument, realizing all that heat was just me being scared.
