Vindicanthe

vin-DIK-an-thee

Origins

From vindicare (Latin root behind vindicate, to claim as justified) fused with acantha (Greek for thorn, a sharp spine). The sound leans toward vindication with a barb.

Meaning

We catch the moment our resentment turns into a tool.

A “legitimate” offense appears, and suddenly we can use with a straight face. We rehearse what they did, we polish the charge, we feel almost grateful for it.

Using becomes a verdict we deliver on them, and we pretend it is justice.

Usage

When I’m in Vindicanthe, I start collecting evidence instead of asking for help.
