Chiron

KY-rən

Origins

Named after Chiron, a figure from Greek mythology associated with healing and wisdom, distinguished by carrying an unhealed wound while tending to others. The name has come to symbolize care offered from unresolved pain.

Meaning

Chiron names the experience of continuing to give while quietly accumulating resentment, fatigue, or hurt. We show up, listen, and carry responsibility, even as our own needs remain unspoken or unmet. The giving is sincere, not performative, but it draws from a place that is already strained. Over time, care offered outward begins to carry the weight of something missing, a longing not to stop giving, but to be met with the same attention we extend to others.

Usage

We kept showing up for everyone else, until we recognized the Chiron in how exhausted and unseen we felt.
